Childhood dreams, current gains: the transformation from Barbie dolls to physical doll figurines
When I was a child, I always couldn't forget those gorgeous Barbie dolls. Every time I walk into a toy store, rows of beautiful Barbie dolls always catch my attention. Their clothing is colorful and their hair is shiny and smooth, as if they have fairy like life stories. However, these beautiful dreams often cannot come true due to price barriers. I can only watch helplessly, silently hoping that one day I can have my favorite Barbie doll.
However, time flies by, and in the blink of an eye, I have grown into an adult. The Barbie dolls that were once coveted are gradually becoming less important in my heart. I gradually realized that although Barbie dolls are beautiful, they are more suitable for children's play and imagination. As an adult, I began to crave for items with more collectible value and connotation, items that could showcase my unique interests and hobbies.
Just as I was reflecting on my past dreams, a brand new hobby quietly emerged: figurines. As a small and exquisite model, figurines are often derivatives of cultural works such as anime and games, and their exquisite craftsmanship and details attract me. Unlike Barbie dolls, figurines carry more of my interests and preferences as an adult, allowing me to find more emotional resonance in my collection. The 3-cent silicone figurine produced by Qita's physical doll, fell in love at first sight. The whole body is made of silicone and paired with various styles of head carvings, there is always one that I want.
The diverse themes of figurines also make it easier for me to find works related to my interests. Whether it's my beloved anime characters, game characters, or figurines representing specific cultural symbols, they can all find their place in my collection. These figurines not only made me feel the enjoyment of beauty, but also helped me maintain my love and pursuit of preferences in daily life.
Compared to Barbie dolls, figurines seem to be more in line with adult life. They are not only a way to showcase my hobbies, but also a bridge for me to communicate with others who also love these cultural works. In social media and offline gatherings, I can share my experiences and feelings with other collectors, and this shared interest builds a deep emotional bond between us.
Life is a continuous process of exploration, and as we grow, we discover that our interests are constantly evolving. From childhood Barbie dolls to today's silicone doll figurines, this transformation not only represents a change in my personal hobbies, but also reflects my pursuit of beauty and understanding of diversity in life. Coming of age does not mean completely abandoning our childhood dreams, but rather re examining them with a mature perspective and finding ways that are more suitable for our current stage to achieve them.
In my eyes, silicone figurines are no longer just toys, they are a way to express oneself, a way to continue interests, and a way to convey emotions. I will continue to collect my favorite figurines and use them to record my growth, while also looking forward to more new interests and gains waiting for me in the future.
