Uncover the real difference between TPE and silicone doll?

1. Hand feel: silicone feels hard, while TPE is very soft; Of course, silica gel can also be very soft, but the cost will increase a lot.

 

2. Texture: the performance of silica gel is superior to TPE; Because the material is a little hard, the expressiveness will be better. Some shapes and details can only be represented by silicone material, while TPE has poor effect.

 

3. Bearing capacity: silicone can be stretched 3~5 times according to different synthetic formulas, while dolls made of TPE can be stretched 6~8 times. Therefore, TPE soft rubber has better tension and stronger bearing capacity, but it should be noted that it cannot be pulled excessively and is easy to tear.

 

4. Weight: Silica gel of the same size is heavier than TPE, and the specific weight depends on the manufacturer's process and lining level.

 

5. Price: the price of silica gel is several times that of TPE; Therefore, silicone dolls are much more expensive than TPE dolls. TPE dolls may cost thousands of yuan, while silicone dolls usually cost more than 10000 yuan.

 

6. Aging speed: silica gel is resistant to high temperature, low temperature, acid and alkali (except for highly corrosive articles). Silica gel hardly reacts with any substance. TPE soft plastic is not resistant to high temperature, and its aging resistance is not as good as silicone products.

 

7. How to distinguish: water burning is the simplest method. Silica gel: when burning, it emits white smoke and forms gray ash; TPE: When burning, the plastic will emit black smoke, forming black oily residues.
