What is the difference between semi solid dolls and solid dolls?
The main differences between the two are in terms of material, weight, and price.
Material: Currently, there are mainly two types of physical materials: silicone and TPE. Solid dolls, also known as full solid dolls, have a body, torso, and head made of the aforementioned materials. Full silicone has a slightly harder feel, but a more realistic appearance than TPE materials. The main brand in the industry is Thias; Full TPE has a soft feel and a stronger user experience than silicone. The most popular products in the industry are Jinsan and Junying; In addition, there are also manufacturers that produce silicone heads and TPE bodies, taking into account both practical and aesthetic characteristics. The earliest one is Shuruibao. The semi solid doll only has a head, or is made of the aforementioned materials with hands and feet. The body part is usually made of inflatable plastic skin, which is not as realistic and experiential as a full body doll.
Weight: Silicone and TPE raw materials are high-density plastic materials, so full body dolls are much heavier than half body dolls. According to the specifications, they are generally around 10-40kg, while half body dolls are much lighter and may only weigh a few pounds.
Price: The use of materials results in a significant price difference between full body and semi solid dolls, with full body dolls mostly priced at over a thousand yuan. When the price is lower than this, it is necessary to consider whether the merchant is selling normal full body dolls. It may not match the image or use inferior raw materials. The price of semi solid dolls may fluctuate depending on the amount of physical parts, usually below 1.5k.
