The difference between TPE physical dolls and silicone dolls in popular science

Silicone is a thermosetting elastomer. It has the advantages of safety and non toxicity. Insoluble in water and any solvents. Non toxic and odorless. Has stable chemical properties. It does not react with any substance except strong bases and hydrofluoric acid. It has high adsorption performance and thermal stability, good stability and chemical properties, and is the earliest widely used product in adult products and food.

 

It is understood that TPE is a thermoplastic elastomer that is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, easy to color, smooth and soft, with a hardness range of 0A-120A. It is easy to process and form, does not require vulcanization, and can be recycled and reused, reducing costs. It can be coated and bonded with PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS and other plastic materials, or can be molded separately. The difference between TPE and silicone materials: 1. TPE is a general term for various elastic materials that exhibit rubber elasticity at room temperature and can melt and flow at high temperatures. Silicone is a special type of rubber. After crosslinking, it has good mechanical strength, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance. It is a thermosetting rubber. After vulcanization, it will not melt. If the temperature is too high, it will burn. The products of complete combustion are water and silica. 2. Their analytical structures are different: silicone is an elastomer connected by silicon oxygen bonds in the main chain, while the side chain is usually methyl, i.e. CH3. TPE is a thermoplastic elastomer that includes styrene, olefins, and polyurethane. The main difference in molecular structure between the two is the SI02 structure and the CC structure. 3. In terms of processing performance: Silicone needs to be vulcanized and heated to form, while TPE can be processed without vulcanization. Organic silicon processing is difficult to form, while TPE production and processing are very simple.
