Discuss the influence of extreme temperature on TPE material entity doll
When you buy a physical doll made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), you realize how similar TPE is to human skin to the touch. But have doll friends ever wondered what is the best temperature to store TPE dolls? Today, I will explain it to you.
Expert advice in the circle is to treat the TPE skin in the physical doll like human skin, which mainly has tolerance to extreme temperatures (cold and heat). However, for this chemical and polymeric material, there is no clear temperature range for this statement.
It is generally accepted that the storage temperature range can be maintained between -40°C and 140°C, but there is no evidence or research that this precise range is correct.
Studies have shown that washing TPE dolls with water above 40°C should be avoided; warm or overheated water will cause the TPE material to lose its stability and begin to melt. These conditions, just like what happens to human skin, when we stand in the sun, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can make the skin very fragile, causing peeling and eventually burning.
TPE is a very soft material, it can be stretched 5-10 times in length, but once the internal stability is destroyed, it will be irreversible, unlike silicone that can withstand extremely high temperatures without damaging the physical structure.
In addition, the effect of low temperature on TPE material may not be as serious as the effect of high temperature. Just like humans, the skin of the physical doll will feel stiff under low temperature conditions, and the "sense of fluctuation" of the doll itself will be suppressed. If the doll is placed in a very cold room, it becomes a rigid, rigid model that feels like plastic.
The difference between low temperature and high temperature is that high temperature will destroy the physical structure of TPE, while low temperature is different. Once the doll is stored at the correct temperature, the original stiffness will slowly disappear and return to normal.
Dolls made of TPE cannot be treated like dolls made of silicone, because their components are not the same. One thing is for sure, the guidelines provided by the doll manufacturer at the time of purchase are verified and can be read carefully.
